Getting ready for solar conjunction
Mars is going around the far side of the Sun so in the middle of next week, we'll have extremely limited communication with the rovers. Spirit is still parked at its "Low Ridge" location (though we might be able to do a very minor drive or "bump" after conjunction since solar energy levels are slowly increasing as we start to emerge from Martian winter). Opportunity will be parked at its vantage point on the "Cape Verde" promontory (special effects version of what it might look like to see the rover on Cape Verde is here) looking out over Victoria Crater. This is good timing since I'll be at the Geological Society of America meeting over conjunction so I won't be missing much!
