the defining atrocity of the Iraq war
Mark Steyn was on Bill Bennett's radio show this morning. He mentioned that there was a New York Times story with a throwaway aside about how "Abu Ghraib was the defining atrocity of the war in Iraq". Excuse me?!? This just shows how much the writers at the NY Times hate the United States. Any sane person would look at something like Zarqawi's beheading of Nicholas Berg or Al Qaeda's blowing up of the Golden Mosque as being bigger atrocities. Let's see. I'm holding out my two hands. In one is some over enthusiastic Army reservists making the jihadists wear panties on their heads. In the other is Zarqawi hacking off Nick Berg's head. Gee... I'd have to say that the latter is a bit worse, don't you think?
