the liberal fascist approach to countering global warming

I ran across the following on Transterrestrial Musings:

"Apparently, such is the threat from global warming that we'll have to sacrifice democracy on its altar:

Well, that's a relief."

He got it in turn from Jonah Goldberg's page.

This is really amazing stuff. On Goldberg's page, he quotes the following from a reader:

"You should check out the “Peak Oil” guys. A relative of mine is now into that and lent me a book by a chomskyite professor named Heinberg (Title “The Party’s Over”). Calls for centralized planning right down to local committees to determine when and if you may be allowed to have any children- the national quota of kids allowed being already set by the central command. This wedding of science and pseudo-science to totalitarian socialism is getting weirder and weirder out there and has this millennial cult-feel to it."

I wonder if these liberal fascists ever stop and think about what they're saying?
