A Giant Leap for commercial space flight

Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) had a very successful test flight of their Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon cargo carrier. The Dragon was put into orbit and had two orbits and then a successful re-entry and splash-down in the Pacific Ocean. This made SpaceX the first private company to successfully bring back a spacecraft. This is great news since the Dragon might be re-worked to be able to carry people as well as cargo. So even though the Constellation program is being cancelled, we could have a replacement vehicle in place before too long after all.
