How about the carbon footprint of Obama's inauguration?
David Harsanyi of the Denver Post has a great column where he raises that question about the carbon footprint of Obama's Inauguration. He also points out that as Democrats in Congress prepare to pass legislation to combat "global warming" it is 40 degrees below zero in Maine... you'd think at some point the (eco-friendly incandescent) lightbulb would go off in the heads of these guys and they'd say "wait a minute". I guess the impulse to take advantage of the "crisis" and institute draconian central planning measures is too powerful. On the topic of central planning, Harsanyi has a good line:
"Still, politically, the time is right for progressives to pass any legislation they please. But Democrats also may be setting themselves up for failure. This kind of central planning, after all, has a winning record envied only by the Detroit Lions."
True... except the Lions will get first pick in the NFL draft. We're stuck with these turkies for at least another two years.
