Science illiteracy among celebrities

Wow, imagine my (lack of) surprise when I saw this story citing a number of scientifically insupportable claims made by celebrities in the past year. I'd add to the list all the statements made about how "we are on brink of disaster due to global warming". Yes, there is some degree of natural global warming (although I think now we might be in a shorter frequency cooling trend), but "on the brink of disaster"? I think not.
