"Watchmen" as the new "saints" of our culture???

I saw the movie "Watchmen" yesterday. I read the original comic book mini-series way back in the '80's and was very much looking forward to the movie. I thought that director Zach Snyder did a great job of cramming the salient points of the mini-series/graphic novel into the movie. It was maybe the most faithful adaptation I've ever seen actually. I also thought the acting was surprisingly good (especially Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl and Jackie Earl Haley as Rorschach) and Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre... va, va, VOOM!

It was pretty interesting to see the following piece which is kind of a commentary of how superheroes are our new "saints".
