The "Ground Zero mosque" wouldn't be a mosque but rather a rabat

Amir Taheri has an article here which I think could actually explain what the "Ground Zero mosque" would actually be. It isn't intended as a mosque primarily but rather as a "rabat" something from the ancient Islamic world that was used as a gathering place for muslim warriors.
