Joe Scarborough has a column that I agree with 100%. He points out how Sarah Palin is basically unelectable and is sucking all the oxygen out of the room right now. Really, she's a reality show star not a credible candidate for the highest office in the land. If she somehow gets the GOP nomination in 2012, we can kiss the White House good bye for another 4 years. Sarah Palin has a role to play on the national scene, but not as a candidate for President.

Whoopi Goldberg on the O'Reilly Factor: amazing ignorance

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised when left-leaning entertainment types who are talking to millions of Americans on a daily basis display amazing ignorance, but I still am. Whoopi Goldberg was on "The O'Reilly Factor" this evening and apparently she doesn't know what a madrassa is and was skeptical that anti-Semitic violence is more prevalent than anti-Muslim violence. Sigh.

Colorado = California East

I just heard on the radio that Bennet has won the race for the U.S. Senate. Now it is official that every candidate that I voted for lost. I thought this was supposed to be a change election for us on the Right? Well, not here in the Front Range of Colorado... and not in California either where both Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina lost. Buck probably lost because he was so demonized that I don't know if any independent woman voter voted for him. Maybe Jane Norton could have won, but that is a moot point now. So it just seems that Colorado is California East now... have Representatives and Senators who vote to take away your choice in health care? Great! No problem let's vote them back into office. It is a sad day for anyone in Colorado who believes in Constitutional principles.

Hurray for the center Right... boo on the far Right

As I'm ready to go to bed here, some things seem obvious to me and one of those things is that nominating candidates who are too far Right is generally a losing proposition. Christine O'Donnell lost, I just heard that Sharon Angle is projected to have lost. Tom Tancredo lost the governor's race here in Colorado. In contrast, though Kirk won the Senate race in Illinois. Now Kirk is a center right guy... maybe even a liberal Republican, but he will vote with the Republicans more often than he will with the Dems and I will take him any day of the week over someone like Chris Coons from Delaware. Republican voters had better wise up for 2012 and not nominate a wingnut like Sarah Palin because she will inevitably share Christine O'Donnell's fate whereas a Mitt Romney or Tim Pawlenty stands a good shot at winning.
